Description
A very easy-to-grow North American native flowering shrub perfect for planting in those low-lying areas in the landscape or garden where the soil tends to stay moist to wet, White Meadowsweet is prized for her very pretty and sweetly fragrant white to soft pink flowers that appear over a very long bloom season from early summer to early fall. The 3 to 4 inch soft and fuzzy looking pyramidal flower clusters sit atop tall stems that rise just above the 3 to 4 feet tall and wide mound of upright stems clothed in narrow green to chartreuse leaves that turn yellow in fall. Butterflies and other beneficial pollinators will thank you for planting this one! Excellent for garden beds and large container gardens.
Landscape & Garden Uses
Growing 3 to 4 feet tall and equally as wide, White Meadowsweet is ideal for use in sunny wet meadows, marshes, fields, lake and creek margins, ditches and other areas where the soil stays consistently moist to wet, which makes it a really good asset in gardens where many other plants might drown. Also does very well combined with other warm-season flowering perennials in large container gardens such as whiskey barrels. A fine addition to bog and wetland gardens, rain gardens, butterfly and beneficial pollinator gardens, native plant gardens and white theme gardens.
Suggested Spacing: 3 feet apart for mass plantings

Growing Preferences
Meadowsweet is easy-to-grow in a consistently moist to boggy soil of average fertility and full sun to part shade. We suggest at least 4 hours of direct sunlight per day for best flowering. Spent flowers can be deadheaded to encourage extended bloom.
