Description
Sunburst is outstanding variegated selection of the Korean Boxwood. It is a tough, cold and heat hardy dwarf featuring very pretty, rich green leaves edged in creamy yellow. Growing naturally in a rounded conical form to maybe 4 feet tall and 3 feet wide at maturity, it is excellent for use as an accent, in groupings or as a hedge in the landscape and home foundation plantings, and also a fine specimen for containers. That said, it responds very well to pruning for clipped formal hedges and various topiary shapes where it can be kept at half its normal size. Growing well in full blazing sun to part shade, both heat and cold hardy to well below 0ºF, and with high deer, insect and disease resistance, Sunburst is a boxwood you can’t go wrong with, and that will light up your landscape!
Landscape & Garden Uses
It’s smaller size makes the the Sunburst Variegated Korean Boxwood an ideal choice for an accent, low hedge or in groupings in smaller garden spaces and pots, planters and other containers. It responds very well to shearing into formal shapes, which are a distinctive note in the landscape, or into low hedges in landscape borders, along walkways, or in home foundation plantings. A fine selection for Asian or English gardens, formal gardens, or container gardens
Suggested Spacing: 15 inches for solid hedges; 36 inches or more for space between plants

Growing Preferences
Sunburst Variegated Korean Boxwood is easy to grow in most any well-drained moist soils. It will tolerate dry periods when established and likes full sun but will tolerate some shade as well. In our gardens, we’ve found it to have better drought, heat and pest tolerance than many other boxwood.
