Description
Blooming for up to 5 months out of the year in our gardens, Perfecto Mundo Red is a new addition to the series and putting on a stunning floral show with an explosion of brilliant cherry-red blooms in spring, then taking a short rest before reblooming from mid or late summer through fall. The flowers are backed by attractive, dark green evergreen leaves that have shown excellent resistance to lace bugs. Excellent in garden beds or pots, with its improved hardiness, reliable reblooming, and stunning color show, Perfecto Mundo Red brings a blaze of red to the garden that we azalea-lovers love!
Landscape & Garden Uses
Growing to 2.5 to 3 feet tall and 3 to 4 feet wide, the Perfecto Mundo Red Azalea is ideal as an accent in smaller garden spaces or in groupings or as a colorful low hedge in larger landscape borders and home foundation plantings. It is also a fine selection for growing in containers that can be strategically placed to dress up decks, patios, porches, and other outdoor living spaces. Because it grows in sun or part shade, it is perfect for planting under tall trees and in woodland borders. A fine addition to azalea and rhododendron gardens, red theme gardens, butterfly gardens and cottage gardens.
Suggested Spacing: 2.5 to 3 feet apart for solid hedges; 6 feet or more apart for space between plants
Growing Preferences
When planted right and in the right spot, Perfecto Mundo Reblooming Azaleas are among the easiest azaleas to grow.
Soil: When planted in the ground, Perfecto Mundo Azaleas adapt well to most soil types. In general, like all other azaleas, they prefer an organically rich, moist but well-drained acidic soil. Constantly soggy or wet soil is problematic for azaleas. Heavy clay, quick-draining sand, or otherwise poor soils are best amended with organic matter or other soil amendments to provide sufficient nutrients, better soil drainage, and/or moisture retention.
In containers, a 50/50 blend of professional potting mix and potting soil is suggested. Make sure the pot has a hole(s) in the bottom that allow for sufficient drainage. As mentioned above, they do not like a constantly soggy soil.
Sun: Perfecto Mundo Azaleas will grow in sun or part shade. For best flowering and reblooming, we recommend at least 4 hours or more of direct sunlight per day. All-day lightly filtered sun, such as under tall trees, is okay. In regions that experience very hot summers with intense sunlight they might appreciate a break from direct sun during the mid afternoon hours.

Arrived healthy and already with a few blooms. I planted the next day. So far it still looks good, although having to water a couple of times a week due to drought.————————————————————–Thanks for the great review!
