Description
Blooming for up to 5 months out of the year in our gardens, Perfecto Mundo Orange Azalea puts on a stunning floral show with an explosion of brilliant orange blooms in spring with rebloom from mid or late summer through fall. The flowers stand out remarkably well against the attractive, dark green evergreen leaves which have shown excellent resistance to lace bugs. At up to 30 inches tall and 3 to 4 feet wide at maturity, Perfecto Mundo Orange makes for a fine accent in smaller garden spaces or groupings or low border or hedge in sunny to partially shaded landscape and woodland borders and home foundation plantings. Also nice in containers. The brilliant color of the flowers is sure to draw in the butterflies and hummingbirds. With improved hardiness, reliable reblooming, and a stunning color show, Perfecto Mundo Orange brings a blaze of orange to the garden that we azalea-lovers love and always look forward to!
Landscape & Garden Uses
Growing to 2.5 feet tall and 3 to 4 feet wide, the Perfecto Mondo Orange Azalea is ideal as an accent in smaller garden spaces or in groupings or as a colorful low hedge in sunny to partially shaded landscape borders and home foundation plantings where space allows. It is also a fine selection for growing in containers that can be strategically placed to dress up decks, patios, porches, and other outdoor living spaces. Because it grows in sun or part shade, it is perfect for planting under tall trees and in woodland borders. A fine addition to azalea and rhododendron gardens, orange theme gardens, butterfly gardens and cottage gardens.
Suggested Spacing: 3 feet apart for solid hedges; 6 feet or more apart for space between plants
Growing Preferences
When planted right and in the right spot, Perfecto Mundo Reblooming Azaleas are among the easiest azaleas to grow.
Soil: When planted in the ground, Perfecto Mundo Azaleas adapt well to most soil types. In general, like all other azaleas, they prefer an organically rich, moist but well-drained acidic soil. Constantly soggy or wet soil is problematic for azaleas. Heavy clay, quick-draining sand, or otherwise poor soils are best amended with organic matter or other soil amendments to provide sufficient nutrients, better soil drainage, and/or moisture retention.
In containers, a 50/50 blend of professional potting mix and potting soil is suggested. Make sure the pot has a hole(s) in the bottom that allow for sufficient drainage. As mentioned above, they do not like a constantly soggy soil.
Sun: Perfecto Mundo Azaleas will grow in sun or part shade. For best flowering and reblooming, we recommend at least 4 hours or more of direct sunlight per day. All-day lightly filtered sun, such as under tall trees, is okay. In regions that experience very hot summers with intense sunlight they might appreciate a break from direct sun during the mid afternoon hours.
