Description
With the deep red color we rose-lovers love, this tree form version of the Oh My! Floribunda Rose will definitely have folks saying “Oh My!.” Abundant clusters of long-lasting, velvety, showy double flowers with scarlet-red ruffled petals begin appearing in late spring and continue all summer and into fall. The flowers have an light, apple-like fruity fragrance. Deep green glossy foliage with very good disease resistance serves as a nice backdrop to show off the flowers. Both cold and heat hardy, thriving in USDA Zones 5 to 10, Oh My! Rose is excellent as a specimen in pots or gardens beds, or use two to frame an entryway.
Landscape & Garden Uses
The Oh My! Rose is ideal for use as a specimen or use two to frame an entryway. This rose is so reliable and attractive throughout the season we have no problem suggesting it for use in home foundation plantings. A fine addition to rose gardens, cottage gardens and red theme gardens.
Suggested Spacing: Best as a specimen or to frame an entryway
Growing Preferences
The Oh My! Rose is easy to grow in a moist but well-drained soil of average or better fertility and full sun to part shade. As with all other roses, morning sun is a must to dry dew from the leaves, which prevents powdery mildew on the leaves. Afternoon shade or filtered sun is fine. We suggest 6 hours of direct sun light for best flowering.
Maintenance is minimal. No pruning is required however it will benefit from it. To keep your rose full and bushy from year to year, in late winter or very early spring prune the branches back to a height of about 15-18 inches. After this hard pruning, your rose will quickly flush out and start blooming with the arrival of warmer spring temperatures. Deadheading spent flowers through the season is not necessary however will encourage new flower buds to form more rapidly.
