Mariesii Doublefile Viburnum – 3 Gallon Pot

I wanted these viburnum for my bird and butterfly garden and I had read that they are somewhat deer resistant.. The blossoms are attractive to butterflies and moths and the tree is a host plant for the blue azure butterfly. Autumn berries are attractive to all kinds of birds including mockingbirds, grosbeaks, robins among many other kinds.. They look similar to dogwoods in bloom but bloom after them so a nice succession of blossoms for my butterflies. In the fall the show off pleasing reddish color. I am not positive this variety is native to Ohio, but it has been around since the 1800s I think. .
A big box arrived with my two double file viburnum well packed with instructions on how to unpack and plant. . Plants were very healthy looking. I planted mine in part-sun/shade and they seem to be doing well. They are close to my bluebird feeder and the birds like them for cover. if you are looking for a beautiful easy maintenance shrub/tree for your bird and butterfly garden this may be it!—————————————We are so glad you are pleased and we hope you enjoy your purchase for years to come! Excellent, simple and prompt service. Viburnum received in good condition well-packaged for shipping. Large container for above average root size – unusual in shipped plants. This is a healthy, large-sized plant in a dormant state. I ordered from Wilson Bros because I wanted a large specimen for a focal point in my garden. It was well packaged and arrived safely. I have had a good experience with Wilson Bros and am a return customer. To start, this was the best-packaged shrub that we have ever received! My spouse and I planted it in a location that could best be described as “challenging” for any shrub, at the northern edge of our hardwoods, in memory of a wonderful deceased friend that loved viburnum shrubs. The viburnum nestled in right away, as if had been there for years. It is growing beautifully. Package delivered fast and plants arrived in excellent condition with great recovery. Between construction next door and weather events the plant finally found a home. I am placing a breathable cover to allow it to adjust to the sun. The plant is just eager to get growing. Have it placed across from my office window.
