Description
An American Arborvitae that packs a punch of color in the landscape, ‘Golden Globe’ features dense sprays of outstanding yellow foliage on a compact, global form that might grow 4 feet tall and wide with no pruning. Handling full direct sun with no foliage burn, it is a fine choice for use in sunny landscape borders, home foundation plantings, or containers. Its formal round shape makes it ideal for use to accentuate entryways.
Landscape & Garden Uses
Growing 3 to 4 feet tall and equally as wide, the Golden Globe Arborvitae is ideal for use as an accent, in groupings, or as a straight or staggered row in home foundation plantings and landscape borders. To accentuate an entryway, plant on both sides of the front door or steps or other entryways such as walkways, driveways or gates. Also great for use as a solo or combined with other plants in container gardens. A fine addition to conifer gardens, gold or yellow theme gardens, rock gardens and formal gardens.
Suggested Spacing: 3 feet apart for solid hedges; 7 feet or more apart for space between plants
Growing Preferences
Arborvitae are very easy to grow in most any moist but well drained soil of average fertility, including clays soil, and full sun to part shade. Established plants have moderate drought tolerance. As with so many other ornamental plants, constantly soggy or wet soil can be problematic. Maintenance is minimal with very little if any pruning ever required.

I’m well pleased with the Golden Globe arborvitae which replaced builder-installed hollies that suffered in the flash freeze we had last December. They’re growing nicely and add an interesting hue to the foundation.————————————————–Thanks for the photo! We are so glad you are pleased and we hope you enjoy it for years to come! Thanks for the kind words and wonderful review! 🙂 Beth Steele | WBG
